Apple To Launch OLED iPad Pro, New iPad Air And Macs This Week: What to Expect

Apple March Event 2024: The Cupertino-based tech giant Apple is gearing up to reveal its latest products this week. These include the much-anticipated iPad Pro featuring an OLED display, a bigger 12.9-inch version of the iPad Air, and the latest MacBook Air models in 13-inch and 15-inch variants, powered by the M3 chip. Details are expected to be announced through press releases on its website.

Based on information from MacRumors, the exact lineup of Apple’s upcoming announcements has not been officially confirmed. There’s widespread speculation pointing towards the introduction of updated iPads, Macs, and a range of accessories. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has claimed that Apple is planning new iPad Pro, iPad Air, and MacBook Air models, along with new Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil accessories for select iPads.

Gurman believes that Apple won’t have a regular event for these new products. Instead, the company plans to reveal them on its website and through online videos and ads in March.

Apple March Event 2024: What To Expect

– Two updated iPad Pro models equipped with the M3 chip, featuring OLED screens, a slimmer design, a front camera positioned for landscape use, a new look for the rear camera setup, some design changes, and possibly MagSafe for wireless charging.

– Two 12.9-inch iPad Air models, introducing an M2 chip and marking the first time.

– A redesigned Magic Keyboard for the iPad Pro, which includes a bigger trackpad, a partly aluminum body, and various design modifications.

– At least one new version of the Apple Pencil.

– New MacBook Air laptops in 13-inch and 15-inch sizes with the M3 chip, are expected to support Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3.

A potential new color for the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, though this hasn’t been confirmed, it’s considered likely based on past trends.

– New colors for iPhone cases and Apple Watch bands.

Leaks in the past also suggested that a new Apple TV and a HomePod featuring a screen possibly be released in the first half of 2024, though it’s not confirmed if they’re ready for launch.

According to DigiTimes, the price for the new iPad Pro with an OLED screen might not go up as much as people thought. Initially, there were predictions that the next-gen 11-inch OLED iPad Pro could start at $1,500 and the 13-inch model at $1,800, with some even speculating up to $2,000 for the larger model, possibly for higher storage options.

However, the report revealed that the increase might be around $160, which is lower than previously expected. The increase in price is due to Apple’s use of OLED panels in iPads for the first time. These panels are more expensive than LCD ones.

Apple’s slim design requires special OLED panels, which adds to the cost. Despite the higher price, OLED screens have longer lifespans, are more energy-efficient and can produce brighter displays. Apple sources these OLED panels from Samsung and LG Display.
