Google 9 Pro XL, Pixel 9 Pro Fold gets listed on Flipkart ahead of launch

In Short

  • The Pixel 9 Pro XL and Pixel 9 Pro Fold are listed on Flipkart
  • The listing suggests they may be the only models to be launched in India
  • Pixel 9 Pro XL could be priced at $1,200 (approx Rs 1,01,000), while the Pixel 9 Pro might start at $999 (approx Rs 83,867)

Google is all set to make the Pixel 9 series official in India on August 14. Ahead of the big launch, two of the Pixel phones have already been listed on Flipkart. The Pixel 9 Pro XL and the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. The Flipkart listing hints that these could be the only two models that the company may launch in India as contrary to the four models that Google is expected to launch. Notably, Google is expected to launch four models this time including the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, the Pixel 9 Pro XL and the Pixel 9 Pro Fold.

Recently, the prices of the devices were also leaked online. The Pixel 9 Pro lineup is shaping up to be an exciting, but possibly pricier, upgrade from its predecessors. The standard Pixel 9 Pro is rumored to start at $999, which is about Rs 83,867—the same as the Pixel 8 Pro. However, the real star might be the Pixel 9 Pro XL, considered the true successor to the Pixel 8 Pro, and it could come with a heftier price tag. Word on the street is that the Pixel 9 Pro XL could be priced at $1,200, around Rs 1,01,000, for both the 256GB and 512GB models. That’s a $200 increase from last year’s Pro model!

If Google sticks to this trend, we could see the base Pixel 9 launch at around $900, which is approximately Rs 75,556. The leak also indicates that the two Pixel 9 Pro models might be listed at this price point. But before you panic, remember that US pricing doesn’t always match up with what we see in India. For example, the Pixel 8 Pro launched in the US at $999 but hit the Indian market at Rs 1,06,999 for the 128GB variant. If history repeats itself, the Pixel 9 Pro could also arrive in India with a noticeable price jump, possibly around Rs 23,000 more than in the US.

While the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro might be getting more expensive, there’s some good news for foldable fans. The Pixel 9 Pro Fold is rumored to keep the same price as its predecessor, which could make it an attractive option in the premium foldable market.

As for the specs, the Pixel 9 Pro is expected to boast a 6.3-inch display, 16GB of RAM, and up to 512GB of storage. The camera is also getting some serious upgrades, with leaks suggesting a 48-megapixel telephoto lens and a 42-megapixel front camera.

A recent video leak gave us a sneak peek at the Pixel 9 Pro XL’s design, showing off a cool geometric pattern on the back. But since the screen stayed off the whole time, it’s likely this was just a prototype.
