How to use WhatsApp’s new Drafts indicator to keep track of pending messages

WhatsApp has added yet another feature to help users easily find and finish their incomplete messages. The Meta-owned platform announced on Thursday, November 14, that it has introduced ‘Message Drafts’ for all users globally on iOS and Android devices.

In the coming few days, users will be able to see a green-highlighted Draft indicator preceding any unfinished messages on the main chat screen. These unfinished drafts will also start appearing on the top of a user’s chat list.

“Whether you get interrupted or distracted while typing or simply forget to send a message, this feature helps you save time and effort, allowing you to find and get back to those messages quickly,” the company said in a statement.

“We all need this,” CEO Mark Zuckerberg remarked while announcing the feature on his WhatsApp Channel.

With over 500 million monthly active users, India counts as the largest market for WhatsApp. The platform has proactively taken down over 12 million accounts in the country between January to September 2024, with an overall total of 65 million account bans.
