India is “next playground for AI”, BKC store to showcase AI innovations: Samsung’s JH Han

“India has a large population of tech-savvy young consumers that inspire us to innovate. Here, thousands of young, enterprising youth work at our R&D centers to bring cutting-edge technologies such as AI to the world. We are proud of them,” said Jong-Hee Han, the head of Samsung’s Device Experience division when he recently visited the company’s flagship experience center in Mumbai, India.

During his visit, Han emphasized Samsung’s focus on bringing artificial intelligence (AI) and hyper-connectivity to tech enthusiasts in the rapidly growing Indian market.

“AI will enable connected technologies to improve people’s daily lives while always remaining non-intrusive and in the background. With our model of open collaboration, we want to bring AI and hyper-connectivity to all our consumers. India is the next big playground for AI and our flagship Samsung BKC store is an embodiment of our ‘AI for All’ vision and will showcase ‘One Samsung’,” Han said.

The store aims to showcase how Samsung’s AI innovations can provide smarter and more intuitive experiences across the company’s lineup of smartphones, TVs, appliances, and other connected devices, he added.

Han stressed that AI will enable new connected technologies to seamlessly integrate into people’s lives, always operating unobtrusively in the background. With an “open collaboration” model, Samsung wants to democratize AI and connectivity for all consumers.

This AI-first approach was on display at CES earlier this year when Samsung unveiled new AI features like “Galaxy AI” for their latest Galaxy S24 smartphone series. Han believes India’s large population of young, tech-savvy users will inspire further AI innovation.

The company is doubling down on the Indian market, where it has been operating for over 28 years with manufacturing plants, R&D centers, and a design hub employing thousands. Han credited Indian engineers for helping bring cutting-edge tech like AI to the world.
