Xiaomi announces HyperOS 3 upgrade_ Compatible devices, new features, AI tools and more

HyperOS 3, which is based on Android 16, incorporates Xiaomi’s HyperAI features into compatible tablets and phones.

Xiaomi is offering its most recent HyperOS 3 upgrade to a larger variety of smartphones and tablets throughout its portfolio. With the update, more Xiaomi, Redmi, and Poco devices in India now run Android 16.

The Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Pro, and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max were the first phones to run HyperOS 3 straight out of the box at the company’s September 2025 launch event, according to NDTV Gadgets 360. In addition to the Android 16 update, HyperOS 3 has new widgets, updated system animations, and a collection of AI-powered writing and editing tools designed to boost daily productivity.

Models eligible for the HyperOS 3 upgrade

Sandeep Sarma, the associate director of marketing and PR at Xiaomi India, announced on X, formerly Twitter, that the company has started distributing the HyperOS 3 upgrade to further devices. The Xiaomi 14, Xiaomi Pad 7, Redmi Note 14 5G, Redmi 13, Poco F7, and Poco M7 Pro 5G will soon be able to download the update, Sarma informed.

“#XiaomiHyperOS3 rolling out to the following: Xiaomi 14, Xiaomi Pad 7, Redmi Note 14 5G, Redmi 13, POCO F7, POCO M7 Pro 5G. Follow @XiaomiHyperOSIN for more updates,” Sarma wrote on X.

The most recent firmware update expands the capabilities of Android 16 to Xiaomi’s primary brand and its Redmi and Poco sub-brands.

How to check the HyperOS 3 update

Go to Settings and select “My Device”. In the next step, touch the HyperOS banner at the top and choose “Check for update”. According to NDTV Gadgets 360, once the update is available, it may be downloaded and installed, which may need several device restarts.

HyperOS 3 interface changes

When HyperOS 3 was first released in September, it included numerous interface-level improvements. HyperIsland, a pill-shaped notification area at the top of the screen, is one of the additions. It displays real-time activity and warnings.

When the gadget is plugged in, the function also offers details like charging speed, enabling consumers to quickly examine crucial information. Additionally, the update introduces a new “dual-island” design that allows users to handle tasks and apps from the same screen without having to navigate between them. Users can also use still photographs to create cinematic lock screens and dynamic backgrounds.

HyperAI tools

HyperOS 3, which is based on Android 16, incorporates Xiaomi’s HyperAI features into compatible tablets and phones. These include writing tools driven by AI, such as DeepThink mode and clever screen recognition.

These advancements allow users to change the tone and style of text in emails and texts. AI Speed Recognition, a tool designed to enhance audio recordings, is also included in the update. The system’s AI-driven capabilities for daily usage are expanded by its support for real-time transcription, enhancement of audio quality, and the ability to produce summaries from recorded audio files.
